About Dr. Reem Alhussain
Dr. Reem I. Alhussain has spent many years obtaining the knowledge and extensive training required to ensure your child will receive the highest and most comfortable care. She is personally invested in seeing that each child has the best oral healthcare possible. She believes it is important for children to have a positive dental experience starting at a young age to foster a lifetime of excellent oral health. She enjoys making the dental visit a comfortable, unique, and fun experience for every child!
Dr. Reem was born in France, grew up in Paris, and later in Fairfax, Virginia. Growing up on different continents led her to a commitment and love for connecting with people. She takes great pride in the personal connections she has built with her patients over the years. She truly believes that patient-centered communication is at the core of any health success. With that philosophy in mind, she graduated summa cum laude from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Political and Persuasive Communications with a Minor in Business.
Dr. Reem received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia. At VCU, she had the privilege to serve the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) as a national leader and advocate for oral health. She then completed her residency in pediatric dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry and Bellevue Hospital Center, where she was appointed Chief Resident for her distinguished performance. She received training to work at the Rose F Kennedy Center for developmentally disabled patients, which allowed her to hone her skills with special needs patients.
Dr. Reem has a passion for traveling service work. She has traveled locally to volunteer in Virginia through Mission of Mercy and internationally in Jamaica, Grenada, Nepal, and Cambodia. Currently, she serves as part-time faculty at New York University College of Dentistry Global Outreach Program where she enjoys teaching dental students and serving others. She currently has hospital credentials at INOVA Fairfax Hospital and Loudoun, allowing her to treat her medically compromised patients and comprehensive cases in the best environment. Dr. Reem is a board-certified pediatric dentist and a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Reem loves to spend quality time with her husband, family, and friends. She absolutely loves to travel, learn about new cultures and languages, and explore new places. She speaks English, Arabic, French, and is striving to learn Spanish. If you know another language, don’t hesitate to teach her a new word!
