Pediatric Sedation in Vienna, VA

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

We use laughing gas, or nitrous oxide, in our office because it is one of the safest and most reliable sedation methods to relax noncooperative children. The child remains awake the entire time, and all laughing gas is totally cleared from their body before heading home.

General Anesthesia

Dr. Reem has privileges at INOVA Hospital in Fairfax, Fair Oaks, and Loudoun. She uses anesthesia for children with special needs including children with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and ADHD. In addition, children who have anxiety that prevents them from good coping skills, those who are very young and do not understand how to cope, or those requiring extensive dental treatment can greatly benefit from treatment under general anesthesia. This helps prevent injury from uncontrolled movements as well as to prevent harm to the child's psyche. In a hospital setting, we can safely perform procedures with an excellent anesthesia team.
