Early Orthodontics in Vienna, VA

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children undergo an orthodontic evaluation at the age of seven. However, it’s not too late if your child has passed the age of 7 - our team is here to help you get caught up.

Here is what can be detected in an early orthodontic evaluation:

  • Baby teeth failed to come out on time which can prevent permanent teeth from erupting correctly
  • Baby teeth came out too early, meaning that space maintainers are needed to keep teeth in their proper places
  • Overbite/underbite problems developed from thumb-sucking
  • Poor jaw development or alignment
  • Many other signs of developing problems

We may advise you to simply come back in a year or, for certain problems, begin treatment to encourage appropriate bone growth. When treatment helps facial and jaw bones develop properly, later orthodontic treatment may be shortened or made more successful by avoiding teeth extractions or future jaw surgery.

Dr. Al’s four decades of experience providing orthodontic care to both children and adults has made him an expert in spotting early signs of problems.
